American Sign Language (15yrs-Adult)

This is an opportunity to learn a useful new communication skill. (12-14 year olds may register with an adult who is also taking the class). 

  • ASL 1: 5:15 - 6:45 p.m. This basic introductory American Sign Language course is for those who wish to better communicate with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population. Participants will learn basic conversational vocabulary and grammatical structure of the language, as well as culturally significant information that is essential in communicating with, and respecting the Deaf community. 

  • ASL 2: 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. This intermediate American Sign Language course is for those who wish to further develop their American Sign Language vocabulary and skills. Participants will continue to learn conversational vocabulary and grammatical structure of the language, as well as use those skills to communicate and work with a hearing instructor and Deaf adult in the class. This is an opportunity to continue to learn the fundamentals of communication skills in American Sign Language.
